DSEI Rio Tapajós performs several preventive actions in December
The Indigenous Health Multidisciplinary Teams (EMSI) of the DSEI Rio Tapajós (PA) carried out health education actions focusing on COVID-19 and malaria prevention between December 24th and 31st at the Base Pole Caroçal Rio das Tropas - Rio das Tropas and PV villages.
In home visits and conversation wheels, it was explained about the gravity of the coronavirus, the form of spreading, transmission and prevention methods. The teams also reinforced the rules of respiratory etiquette, the importance of wearing masks, frequent hand washing, and avoiding agglomerations.
In addition, an active search was performed using screening for suspected cases of coronavirus infection, among other respiratory pathologies. The active search for malaria was also carried out, through the collection of the "Thick Drop" of all population present in the PV village.
Indigenous people also received guidance on diarrhea and the correct use of sodium hypochlorite in the water consumed. In the Orientative Booklet Diarrhea, it is taught in a didactic and illustrative way what diarrhea is, the types of diarrhea and the influence of the environment.
