Mobile Health Team and DSEI Kayapó do Mato Grosso perform 1,938 services
Colíder (MT) - The Special Secretariat of Indigenous Health (SESAI), of the Ministry of Health, carried out between November 17 and 21 1,938 consultations during the Operation to Combat COVID-19 in the Special Indigenous Health District (DSEI) Kayapó do Mato Grosso.
With the support of seven health professionals sent by the Ministry of Defense, in strengthening the Volante Health Team of the Special Secretariat of Indigenous Health, the indigenous communities of the Base Poles of Colíder and Juara received care, performed medical and nursing consultations and tested for COVID-19, HIV, Hepatitis C, B and Syphilis.
Obstetric UGS tests by portable device, dispensation of medicines, dressings and two removals of patients by air were also performed.
Health professionals reinforced information on prevention measures to COVID-19 in home visits through the village. "The support team was in our village and helped the health team, spoke with the staff in the houses to wear masks, care for themselves and not have crowding in the village. For us, it was a very good experience with the community and the health team colleagues," evaluated Chief Dionisio Marayup from Tutui Village.
In addition to home care, the indigenous people were consulted in the Basic Units of Indigenous Health (UBSI) and the Primary Indigenous Care Unit (UAPI) by the Multidisciplinary Teams of Indigenous Health (EMSI).
The DSEI Kayapó do Mato Grosso has a population of approximately 5,000 indigenous people of 12 ethnic groups. SESAI sent more than 27,000 items of supplies among medicines and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the action.
The DSEI also sent more doctors, nurses, nursing technicians and indigenous health agents (AIS) and Indigenous Sanitation Agents (AISAN) to join the mission.
