Mobile Team arrives at DSEI Potiguara with Health Action and distribution of prescription eyeglasses
Baía da Traição (PB) - Starts this Monday (30) the intensive health care in the Potiguara Special Indigenous Health District (DSEI), located on the coast of Paraíba. The Mobile Health Team of the Special Indigenous Health Secretariat (SESAI), of the Ministry of Health, will visit the villages of the Base Poles (PB) Rio Tinto, Marking, Baía da Traição and Natal, bringing medical care to the indigenous.
The team is composed by doctors and nurses, who, together with the DSEI team, will attend the repressed demand by the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, which means, those who do not treat exclusively COVID-19. Basic clinical procedures will also be performed, such as blood pressure measurement, curatives and medication distribution, according to the medical prescription.
The DSEI Potiguara provides assistance to about 16,000 indigenous people of Potiguara and Tabajara ethnic groups. For this action, the team of the Indigenous Health Care Division (DIASI) has already triaged the patients and listed the villages that will receive the health action.
With the support of NGO Renovatio, a non-profit organization that promotes access to quality visual health through ophthalmologic consultations and donation of glasses for those who need them most, the action will also meet the ophthalmologic demands, with consultations and exams and the donation of glasses. The forecast is to deliver at least one thousand glasses free of charge.
