Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo DSEI holds week of actions to confront COVID-19 and vaccination campaign
The Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo Indigenous Special Sanitary District (ISSD-DSEI) held, during the week of April 20-24, several actions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to a vaccination campaign for indigenous people and health professionals.
During that week, the DSEI also promoted actions such as: partnerships for the purchase and distribution of masks for the Pataxos Hã Hã Hãe indigenous people; vaccination of indigenous people and professionals who are in the Governador Valadares Indigenous Health Support House (IHSH-CASAI); in addition to the permanent meeting of the District Committee.
At the Resplendor Base (Krenak ethnic group), the MG-ES DSEI carried out activities aimes to spread the preventive guidelines about COVID-19 and vaccination campaign. In the Agua Boa, Pradinho and Ladainha (Maxakali) poles, in addition to the vaccination campaign and guidelines on the novel coronavirus, a partnership was held with FUNAI to deliver basic food baskets to the indigenous people of those regions.
The Pindaiba (Xakriaba) and Iraja (Tupiniquim) Poles also participated in the DSEIs actions, which included home visits for preventive guidance on the novel coronavirus and vaccination of its populations.
